Qatar government sends essential relief support to Nepal

Kathmandu, August 31: The Government of Qatar has sent essential relief supplies to Nepal for the rescue and relief of people affected by the disaster caused by the devastating floods in the Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa.

A Qatar Airways aircraft carrying essential relief materials for locals of the flood-affected areas landed at Tribhuvan International Airport this afternoon. On the occasion, Qatar’s Ambassador, Mishaal Mohammed Al Ansari, handed over the relief supplies to Minister for Science, Technology and Innovation, Mahabir Pun.

According to the Embassy of Qatar, the essential relief supplies were sent to Nepal, along with a message of solidarity and comfort, as the country continues to suffer immense loss of life and property due to the Bhotekoshi–Trishuli floods.

In this difficult situation following the Rasuwa floods, which have left more than 900 bodies recovered, hundreds of people injured, around 5,000 people missing, and homes and land in riverside areas swept away and turned into barren riverbeds, Nepal has received vital assistance from its friendly country, Qatar.
