Krishnaveer landslide collapsed road in Prithivi Highway

Kathmandu, August 30: A section of the road at Krishnabhir along the Mugling–Kathmandu section of the Prithvi Highway has completely collapsed.

A large portion of the road in the area, which had long been at risk of landslides, has subsided and been destroyed. Following the complete damage to the road, the Department of Roads has begun the process of conducting a technical study.

The department said its technical team has started a detailed study of the geographical conditions at the site and the causes of the road collapse. The department said that reconstruction and repair work will be carried out based on the findings of the study.

Traffic movement in the area has also been affected due to the road collapse. The road was completely damaged by the Bhotekoshi flood that came through Rasuwa and erosion along the Trishuli River in Dhading on August 26.
