Kathmandu, July 19: Health and Food Hygiene Minister Nisha Mehta on Saturday inspected the National Ayurveda, Panchakarma and Yoga Centre in Budhanilkantha and stressed the need to develop it into a centre of excellence for healthcare services.
During the visit, she reviewed the services currently being provided by the centre, its existing infrastructure and future plans. Following discussions with the centre’s officials on expanding services, improving quality and promoting the institution’s overall development, the minister emphasized the importance of strengthening the centre.
Minister Mehta said that the National Ayurveda, Panchakarma and Yoga Centre should be developed into a premier institution for Ayurveda, Panchakarma and yoga services. She also stressed the need to promote greater public awareness of the services available at the centre.
She assured that the ministry would provide every possible support for the centre’s development. Minister Mehta also highlighted the importance of encouraging the cultivation, conservation and utilization of medicinal herbs such as harro (chebulic myrobalan), barro (belleric myrobalan) and bojo (sweet flag), adding that the ministry would extend necessary assistance for these efforts.
