Gyanendra Shahi chosen as RPP parliamentary party leader

Kathmandu, March 20: The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has selected its parliamentary party leader.

A meeting of party lawmakers held at the central office on Friday unanimously chose Gyan Bahadur Shahi, known as Gyanendra Shahi, for the post, party spokesperson Mohan Kumar Shrestha said.

Shahi, who also serves as the party’s spokesperson, was elected to the House of Representatives from Jumla.

Following his selection, Shahi appointed Khushbu Oli as the chief whip of the parliamentary party. Oli was elected as a proportional representation member of the House.

The RPP secured a total of five seats in the House of Representatives, including one through the first past the post system and four under proportional representation.
