Kathmandu, July 13: UML chairman K.P. Sharma Oli is being appointed the prime minister of Nepal on Sunday, July 14. This will be his fourth appointment to the post of the prime minister.
After Prime Minister Pushpakamal Dahal lost a vote of confidence motion on Friday, July 12, President Ramchandra Paudel called the political parties to claim for the formation of a new government. Immediately after the President’s call, UML chair K.P. Sharma Oli and Nepali Congress president Sher Bahadur Deuba, along with other senior leaders of both parties, reached to the President’s Office Sittal Niwas and Oli handed over an application claiming for the formation of a new government led by him. Oli also submitted the signature of 166 MPs in favour of him.
The President’s Secretariat has stated that after verification of the application submitted by Oli, the President will appoint him the new prime minister on Sunday, July 13.
The President’s Secretariat also informed that the President’s Office is scheduled to organize the oath ceremony of the new PM on the same day, i.e. on July 13.
The same day, Oli is planning to introduce a small cabinet.
