Kathmandu, July 13: The nation is observing the 211th Bhanu Jayenti (anniversary) today by organizing different programs. Every year, Asar 29 is observed as the Bhanu Jayenti in Nepal and also in different parts of India, including Sikkim, and Darjeeling.
Bhanubhakta Acharya, a pioneer Nepali poet, who played a vital role in recognizing the Nepali language as the public language, is being respected as the Aadi Kabi.
Bhanubhakta translated Ramayan, an epic original in Sanskrit into Nepali.
