Kathmandu, 20 June: The Asian Development Bank (ADB) is going to provide a subsidy of 2 billion rupees to the Melamchi Water Supply Project. ADB is going to give a subsidy of 2 billion rupees (19.75 million US dollars) for the construction of a new headbox. The flood and landslide of 2021 caused great damage to the headbox of the newly completed project.
Preparations are being made to build a new headbox at a height of about 1,000 meters after the newly constructed headbox was damaged by the flood.
For the construction of a new headbox, the ADB is going to provide more than 2 billion rupees in grants.
