Senior leaders busy in meetings to end House deadlock

Kathmandu, May 18: Senior political leaders are holding meetings to end the House deadlock from early Saturday morning.

The Speaker has called the House meeting for Sunday, May 19.

Prime Minister Pushpakamal Dahal held a meeting with the NC leaders this morning and also plans to meet UML chair K.P. Sharma Oli. PM Dahal is also holding a meeting with House Speaker Devraj Ghimire.

The House deadlock continues as NC is demanding a parliamentary committee to probe the cooperative fraud by DPM and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane.

On the other hand, PM Dahal is taking a middle path saying that the government wants to constitute a probe commission to investigate all the cooperatives’ fraud, which has been rejected by the NC.

UML chair K.P.Sharma Oli has blamed the NC for wanting to topple the government by particularly indicating Lamichhane.

The NC had become mad after the sudden formation of a new coalition government. Earlier, the NC had allowed Rabi Lamicchane to become the PM and support a coalition government initiated by the NC. When Labichhane’s party denied the NC’s offer, the NC targeted Lamichhane, chairman of the Rastriya Swatantra Party.
