
Kathmandu, May 17: The Foreign Ministry is preparing for President Ramchandra Paudel’s Europe visit. According to reports, the President may visit Europe in June this year.
Earlier, a visit of the President to France, Italy and Germany was scheduled for 10 days in 2023.
The next day the cabinet meeting approved the visit, and the earthquake rocked Jajarkot causing a heavy loss of lives and property there. Thus, the President had cancelled the visit.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, although preparations for the visit are underway, the visit date has not been decided.
“The visit may take place around the second week of June, official information about the date is yet to come”, according to the Foreign Ministry sources. President Paudel is scheduled to address the annual celebration of the ILO in Switzerland. After that, there is a high-level meeting with the President and others. From Switzerland, he is scheduled to go to Germany as well, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It is said that there is a program for meeting with the president in Germany.
