
Kathmandu, May 9: Hikmat Kumar Karki, the leader of the CPN-UML Koshi Provincial Council, has been appointed as the Chief Minister of Koshi Province with the support of 52 MPs. Karki is appointed the Chief Minister on Thursday.
This morning, UML leader Karki submitted his claim to the Chief Minister after the Chief of Koshi Province, Parashuram Khapung, called for the formation of the government in accordance with Article 168, Clause 5 of the Constitution.
He is supported by 39 MPs of UML and 13 MPs of the Maoist Center.
