Jufal airport in Dolpa reopenes after 53 days

Kathmandu, April 21: The Jufal airport in the remote Himalayan district of Dolpa has been reopened after 53 days of closure. Air service resumed on Sunday morning with the landing of Tara Air from Nepalgunj.

Suvarna Budha, Mayor of Thuliberi Municipality, informed that the airport was closed from Falgun 16 for the maintenance of the runway and with the completion of the work, regular air service has started from today.

With the reopening of the airport, passengers, patients, and the general public have been able to move in and out easily, according to Municipality chairman Budha. Ajivan Tamang Marine JV Dhading took charge of the construction for six crores including value added tax. Even though the runway repair could be completed within one month, the construction company took about two months.
