Kathmandu, March 11: The Sherpa community, residing in the northern part of the country, is observing Gyalpo Sosar (New Year) today.
Today is the 2151st New Year, according to the Sherpa calendar. From today, the year of the cow has ended and the year of the tiger has started.
The government has announced a national holiday on the occasion of Gyalpo Losar.
