Government to impose tax on social security allowance

Kathmandu, March 3: The government has decided to impose a tax on the social security allowances being distributed by the government.
With the plan of reducing the financial burden on the social security fund, the government decided to impose a tax.
In the current fiscal year, the government has allotted 14.8% or 258 billion, 790 million rupees, for the social security fund.
When the number of recipients of the social security allowance is increasing every year, the government is forced to increase the fund in every budget, reports Gorkhapatra daily.
To reduce the financial burden, the government has decided to impose a tax on social security allowances.
