Kathmandu, February 29: The talks between the government team and the loan shark victims’ team ended inconclusive, therefore, the victims have decided to launch their agitation effectively. After three rounds of talks with the government failed to reach any conclusion, the victims have prepared to strengthen their agitation.
However, the victims have said that they will continue further dialogues along with intensifying the agitation programs.
The government has been negotiating with the victims, who have been protesting, by putting forward six different demands. However, the talks have not been conclusive.
Awadhesh Kushwaha, Chairman of Kisan-Majdur Sangharsh Samiti (Farmers Peasant Struggle Committee), leading the loan shark victims, said that if the negotiations with the government could not be concluded, the agitation would be strengthened along with the talks. Loan shark victims who arrived in Kathmandu for the ‘Justice march against loan sharks’ have been protesting since January 30 putting forward six-point demands.
The negotiation committee formed by the Ministry of Home Affairs and the victims have held three rounds of talks. But President Kushwaha said that the talks could not be concluded. He alleged that the government has ignored the 6-point demand that was put forward to solve the problem created by the money lenders.
