Mahasamiti meeting concludes with the authority for compiling agendas by CWC

Kathmandu, February 23: The Nepali Congress Mahasamiti meeting concluded on Thursday evening (February 22) giving authority to the central working committee of the party to compile the agendas discussed in the Mahasamiti that took place in Godawari, Lalitpur.

The meeting didn’t take any concrete decisions on the agenda put forward by Gagan Thapa, general secretary, for contesting upcoming elections without an alliance with other political parties.

After Thapa presented his political document, the Mahasamiti meeting was divided into two factions. The Deuba camp had opined for not taking any decision about the election alliance, which is going to be held after four years.

Members of the Deuba camp opined that the immediate situation will decide about the election alliance, therefore, there should not be any decision on the issue of the election alliance.

When the final authority for compiling the Mahasamiti reports to the central working committee, it is clear that Thapa’s agenda is going to be dumped, as Deuba dominates two-thirds of the strength in the NC CWC.
