Do Lohani, Thapa really differ on 1950 Treaty?

An interesting, though unexplained, divergence has emerged between RPP chairman Surya Bahadur Thapa and senior RPP official Dr Prakash Chandra Lohani on the issue of the 1950 Treaty between Nepal and India.

Thus, according to a RSS news dispatch (addressing a gathering at the Editor’s Society) while Thapa “declined to comment on the 1950 Nepal-India treaty prior to the forthcoming visit to India of Prime Minister   Man Mohan Adhikari” his colleague Lohani was reported to have “charged that India continued the British colonial policy in dealing with its neighbors” and that, as such, he viewed the 1950 Treaty as a “tool to consolidate India’s strategic objectives as inherited from the British Raj”.
