The tenth-anniversary celebrations of the King Mahendra Trust for Nature Conservation (KMTNC) were launched at a dignified ceremony graced by His Majesty King Birendra, Her Majesty Queen Aishwarya, HRH Crown Prince Dipendra and Prime Minister Man Mohan Adhikari in Kathmandu on January 23.
The highlights of the function attended by a galaxy of political dignitaries and conservationists, national and foreign, as well as by the Kathmandu diplomatic corps were its simple inauguration by the King who lit a traditional Nepali oil-fed lamp (Panas) and an eloquent, thought-provoking keynote address by KMTNC Chairman HRH Prince Gyanedra.
