Experts have reacted to the budget proposals of the UML government for the remaining six-month period of the current fiscal year 1994/95 in various ways. Some have described it as election-oriented; others, as nationalistic and people-oriented; still others, as not different from the previous budget.
According to Mohan Man Sainju, former vice chairman of the National Planning Commission, the budget seems to make a sharp departure from the previous one, but what it exactly is, it does not make clear.
