
Kathmandu, 13 April: As none of the three candidates for the senior vice president was able to secure 50 per cent of the votes in the election held on 12 April, the FNCCI election committee is going to conduct a second round of election among the two candidates.
Chief election officer Lilamani Paudel has said that the second round of election is likely to be started this afternoon.
Those candidates securing first and second positions will contest in the second round of the election. Umesh Shrestha and Anjan Shrestha are contesting the election, whereas, Ramchandra Sanghai has been ousted from the race.
The candidate for the senior vice president should secure above 50 per cent of the total votes. The attraction for the post of senior vice president is that after three years, the senior vice president will automatically be the president of the FNCCI, an umbrella organization of business leaders.
