
Kathmandu, 7 April: Six members of a gang have been arrested for claiming that they would provide insurance amount to the families of Nepalis who died during foreign employment, reports setopati.com.
According to the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office, those arrested are Rudraman Gole of Sarlahi, Prakash Bahadur Gole, Ravindra Moktan, Binod Kumar Lama, Dik Bahadur Malla and Ram Bahadur Tamang of Kavre.
Police said that the accused , while coming to Nepal on vacation, used to start the process of obtaining insurance amount to the families of those who died while working abroad . They would go to the airport on the day of arrival of the body and promise to provide the insurance money to the deceased’s family members. They would put up the family members in a hotel in Kathmandu and proceed with the insurance process taking all the documents with them.
“It has been revealed from the investigation that if someone gets Rs1.4 million from the insurance, they will keep Rs. 0.8 million for themselves, and the rest of the money will be given by the family,” said police. A clerk of the Foreign Employment Department, is also found to be in collusion with this gang.
