Kathmandu, 30 March: The Nepali Congress (NC) has decided to field Govinda Bhattarai in Tanahu-1 and Jit Narayan Shrestha in Chitwan-2 in the by-election to the member of the House of Representatives scheduled for April 23.
However, decision would be taken later regarding the candidate in Bara-2, according to . Tanahu-1 has remained vacant after HoR member, Ram Chandra Poudel, elected to the post of the President. Similarly, Bara-2 has remained vacant after the election of Ramsahaya Prasad Yadav, elected as HoR member from Bara-2, to the post of Vice-President as well as Chitwan-2 after the dispute of citizenship of Rabi Lamichhane, elected as HoR member from Chitwan-2.
The Election Commission has made preparation to hold by-election in these three constituencies on April 23.
