Kathmandu, 28 March: The Supreme Court (SC) has denied to register the writ petition demanding annulment of ‘People’s War Day’ to mark the start of armed Maoist insurgency in 1996.
Conflict victim Kalyan Budathoki of Ramechhap filed the petition at the SC on Sunday demanding that People’s War Day be announced null and void and scrap the public holiday given by the incumbent government.
The SC administration turned him down stating that the prerogative to decide laid solely on the head of the government and cannot be interfered.
