
Kathmandu, 27 March: A proposal seeking consideration on a Bill on the Investigation on Enforced Disappeared Persons, Truth and Reconciliation Commission (Third Amendment) -2079 BS has been approved with a two-thirds majority from the House of Representatives (HoR) meeting on Sunday.
Presenting the proposal Minister for Communications and Information Minister Rekha Sharma asserted that the Bill, t upholds the belief that truth should prevail and there should be reparation, contains concerns of signatories of the Comprehensive Peace Accord, political parties and the general public.
Clarifying that the Bill did not clearly mention that there would be amnesty in the serious human rights violation, she pledged to correct any errors in the Bill in course of the clause-wise discussions.
