Cabinet expansion likely by Monday

Kathmandu, 26 March: Prime Minister Pushpakamal Dahal is trying to give final shape to his cabinet by Monday, 27 March.

Devendra Paudel, secretary, Maoist Center, said that PM Dahal has tentatively finalized the number of ministers representing the political parties in the alliance. After holding separate meetings with the alliance parties, PM Dahal will expand his cabinet by Monday, said Paudel.

According to the latest meeting of the parties in ruling alliance, NC is going to get 8 ministries, Maoist Center five ministries and Janata Samajwadi Party and Unified Socialist Party will get two ministries each. Other parties in the ruling alliance will get one ministry each.

It has been tentatively agreed to hold Home Ministry by the Maoist and provide Finance Ministry to the Nepali Congress. Narayan Kaji Shrestha is likely to get the Home portfolio quitting Physical Infrastructure and Transportation Ministry.
