Kathmandu, 19 March: Prime Minister (PM) Puspa Kamal Dahal aka Prachand is presenting the bill to amend the Enforced Disappearances Enquiry, Truth and Reconciliation Act in Parliament this afternoon. The meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR)is scheduled to commence at 1 pm today.
As per the HoR business schedule for today, PM Dahal will submit the ‘Constitutional Council (Works, Duties, Powers and Procedures) (First Amendment) Bill, 2079’ and ” Enforced Disappearances Enquiry, Truth and Reconciliation Commission (Third Amendment) Bill, 2079″.
It may be noted that following the Supreme Court order to register writ petitions against PM for 10-year-long war-time atrocities and killings, the Dahal-led government has taken initiative to address the war-era issues through the commission.
