
Kathmandu, 19 March: The Election Commission has decided to hold by-elections for the Members of Parliament in vacant three constituencies.
After Ramchandra Paudel was elected President, the Tanahun electoral constituency No 1 has become vacant. Accordingly, after the election of Ram Sahaya Prasad Yadav as Vice President, the Bara electoral constituency No 2 has remained vacant. Due to the cancellation of the election in Chitwan electoral constituency No 2 by the Supreme Court, Rastriya Swatantra Party chair Ravi Lamichhane’s victory was disqualified and the constituency has remained vacant.
The Commission has decided to hold by-elections in Tanahun, Bara and Chitwan on 23 April this year.
