Indian, Chinese presidents, Japanese PM, and US government congratulate Paudel

Presidents of India and China and the Prime Minister of Japan have congratulated Ram Chandra Paudel for assuming the office of the President of Nepal. Likewise, the governments of the USA and Australia have also congratulated him.

Paudel took the oath of office and secrecy on Monday.

President of the Republic of India Droupadi Murmu was the first among Presidents to congratulate Paudel on his assumption to the post of the new President of the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal.

In a letter addressed to President Paudel on Monday, Indian President Murmu expressed confidence that the wide-ranging cooperation between India and Nepal would be strengthened further under President Paudel’s able guidance. “I look forward to working closely with you in nurturing and further strengthening our bilateral partnership,” she said in the message.

Likewise,  Chinese President Xi Jinping on Tuesday congratulated Ram Chandra Paudel on assuming office as president of Nepal.

In his message, Xi said China and Nepal are friendly neighbours linked by mountains and rivers, and since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1955, their relations have maintained healthy and stable development, setting a good example of peaceful coexistence, friendship and mutual assistance between large and small countries.

The Chinese president said he attaches great importance to the development of China-Nepal relations and is willing to work with Paudel to carry forward the traditional friendship between the two countries, consolidate mutual political trust, advance high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, expand cultural and people-to-people exchanges, so as to constantly promote the strategic partnership of cooperation featuring ever-lasting friendship for development and prosperity.

Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida on Monday sent an official letter to President Ram Chandra Paudel, congratulating his inauguration as President of Nepal.

The Japanese Embassy in Kathmandu in a statement said the Japanese government is looking forward to further working with the Nepali government to promote bilateral relations and friendship between the two countries and cooperate in the social and economic development of Nepal under Paudel’s leadership.

Earlier, the American and Australian governments through their Kathmandu-based embassies congratulated Paudel for assuming the high office.
