Kathmandu, 13 March: Senior Vice President of Federation of Nepali Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) Chandra Prasad Dhakal has stressed the need for working together to solve the problems seen in the national economy instead of engaging in blame games.
Addressing the 5th Provincial assembly of Lumbini Province of FNCCI on Sunday, he said, “Now there is no situation to blame anyone. It is also difficult for both the bank and businessmen. The revenue of the government has also not increased. So every-one has a problem. There is no option but to find a solution to the problems. “He said that the government, businessmen and consumers should work together to solve the current problems seen in the economy.
Dhakal said, “Now there is no concern for a person’s victory or defeat. The overall economy is in a bad situation. We all have to work together to bring it back on the right track.”He also complained that the government and political parties did not prioritise the economic agenda.”
Now, the government has not taken its full shape. After the promulgation of the new constitution, we had thought that the political agenda was over and the economic agenda would get priority. However, economic agenda has not yet been priority for our political par-ties,” he said. Stating that it was easy for businessmen to do business because of the bank’s investment, he said that the current problem could not be solved by protesting against the bank.
“Protest programmes are being launched against banks. I think that the current problem cannot be solved by launching such protest. The solution to the present problem is possible only through dialogue, discussion and cooperation rather than agitation,” he said. On the occasion, Dhakal expressed that the future leader-ship of the Federation should be selected unanimously so that it would be easy to address the problems by maintaining unity in the FNCCI
