
Kathmandu, 5 March: Narayan Kaji Shrestha, Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) and Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport, addressed the Summit of the Leaders of the Least Developed Countries in Doha on Saturday afternoon.
The DPM highlighted Nepal’s policies and priorities, as well as compounding challenges of various kind being faced by the LDCs. He called on development partners for scaling up support to the LDCs as their economies are facing the onslaught of mega global crises, such as the pandemic, conflicts, and climate disasters.
He said that Nepal is implementing a transition strategy for smooth and irreversible graduation and committed to exerting all-out efforts for effective implementation of Doha Plan of Action.
The Fifth United Nations Conference on the Least Developed Countries (LDC5) is being held in Doha, the State of Qatar, from 5 to 9 March 2023.
