
Kathmandu, 2 March: With the exit of CPN- UML from Pushpa Kamal Dahal-led government, leaders of Nepali Congress and other political parties backing the incumbent government have begun a race to become ministers.
Prime Minister Dahal has informed that he will expand the cabinet only after the presidential election. The election for the president is scheduled for March 9. Nepali Congress leaders also have been saying that an 8-party coalition government will be formed from the center to the province.
There is a constitutional obligation for the Prime Minister to take a vote of confidence within March 26. According to Baluwatar sources, the Prime Minister is ready to appoint some ministers now and fill all the vacant ministries after March 26.
With regard to the ministries, it has been agreed that Nepali Congress will take over the ministries previously held by the CPN-UML. Congress General Secretary duo Gagan Thapa and Bishwaprakash Sharma, party spokesperson Prakasharan Mahat, leader Prakashman Singh, NP Saud, Pradeep Poudel, Arzu Deuba Rana, Ramhari Khatiwada, Sita Gurung and others are likely to become ministers.
