Kathmandu, 1 March: Province No 1 may get the new name from today’s provincial assembly. The majority of the provincial council members are seen in favour of naming the Koshi Province.
The other name proposed by Unified Socialist Party and Janata Samajwadi Party, Kirat-Limbuwan Sagarmatha, was rejected by the Assembly this afternoon.
Soon, voting is going to take place on the name “Koshi” proposed by the UML and supported by Nepali Congress, RPP and other parties.
If the name is accepted by the two-thirds majority of the Provincial Council, Province No 1 will get a name.
