Kathmandu, 24 February: Eight parties, including the Maoist Center, which is leading the government, and the Nepali Congress (NC), which is in the opposition, have formed a new alliance and have decided to support NC’s presidential candidate.
In the meeting of eight parties held this evening, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal proposed to support NC’s presidential candidate. He argued that this is the beginning of a new political journey. Dahal’s proposal has been supported by NC, Maoist Centre, CPN (Unified Socialist), Janata Samajbadi Party, Loktantrik Samajbadi Party, Janamat Party, Rastriya Janamorcha and Nagarik Unmukti Party.
