
Kathmandu, 21 February: As the presidential nomination date approaches, CPN (Unified Socialist) Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal has become a talk of town.
A leader of his party has said that the party will accept the president’s proposal. Nepal, too, has hinted to his willingness and readiness to the high post. While talking to journalists in Dang today, Nepal said that his party should play a role in power sharing and also said that one cannot always sacrifice for the sake of others.
Prime Minister Puspa Kamal Dahal, in a formal discussion with Nepali Congress leaders including President Sher Bahadur Deuba, has indicated the possibility that the name of the leader of Nepal may be proposed from the CPN-UML. As per the reports, CPN- UML is preparing to propose Nepal as Maoist center in the ruling coalition will support the Nepali Congress candidate.
Sources say that CPN-UML Chair Khadga Oli during his meeting on Monday aske Nepal asked him to become a presidential candidate merging his party to the CPN-UML. Maosit Centre too has backed Nepal, according to reports.
