Left’s poll alliance uncertain

The talks for electoral adjustment between the UML and other left parties drag on as differences persist over who should get how many constituencies. While the largest left party is willing to concede between 25 and 35 are bidding for much more, UML sources said.

Meanwhile, other four left parties are trying to forge an electoral alliance among them. These four plus the Communist party of Nepal (Masal) held talks yesterday. While other parties were in favors of excluding the UML, the Masal insisted that the UML should be roped in, said Bhairav Regmi of the NCP (Masal). There talks will continue today.
