Kathmandu, 9 February: China’s ambassador to Nepal, Chen Song, paid a courtesy call on House of Representatives (HoR) Speaker Devraj Ghimire at the latter’s office yesterday. During the meeting, the duo exchanged views on bilateral relations between Nepal and China and on exchanges of information about parliamentary affairs.
While expressing Nepal’s firm commitment to ‘One China’ policy,” Speaker Ghimire acknowledged China’s medical assistance to Nepal during COVID-19 pandemic. He also recalled the Chinese assistance to Nepal for post-quake reconstruction efforts, expressing his hope for the cooperation from the northern neighbour to re-open the closed trade transit along the Nepal-China border.
