Dahal-Deuba détente, ruling alliance on the verge of collapse

Kathmandu, 4 February: As CPN (Maoist Centre) top-notch Puspa Kamal Dahal aka Prachanda has moved towards détente with Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba following deep division and difference with CPN-UML Chair Khadga Oli relating to reallocation of Home Ministry and electing the next   President, the ruling coalition led by Dahal has begun to falter and is on the verge of collapse.

The latest activities and expressions of Dahal, Deuba and Oli indicate that the current coalition is about to collapse soon. Oli wants to reappoint Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chair Rabi Lamichhane as  Home Minister and select a presidential  candidate of his choice, Dahal has rejected Oli’s idea and has been urging for consensus candidate.
