RSP warns to quit government if doesn’t get home portfolio

Kathmandu, 31 January: Prime Minister Pushpakamal Dahal has completed just one month in office, however, due to his double standard, he is inviting different problems.

Of late, Dahal, by undermining the agreement between him and UML chair K.P. Sharma Oli for supporting the UML candidate for the presidential post, has started to talk about a consensus candidate. Dahal’s latest argument has intensified the dispute between him and Oli.

Meanwhile, Rabi Lamichhane, chair, Rastriya Swatantra Party, who had quit the DPM and Home portfolio following the Supreme Court verdict, had quit the posts. Now, he has obtained a new citizenship certificate and demanding the very portfolios in the government.

PM Dahal, on the other hand, is willing to keep the home portfolio by himself. When RSP saw a change stance of PM Dahal, the party, having 20 seats in parliament, warned to quit the government, which may invite further crisis for the government.

So far, the Nepali Congress, by supporting the government even forgetting its role as the main opposition party, has encouraged the politics of conspiracy. PM Dahal has become ambitious from the latest political development as he has started to bargain with the alliance partner UML by showing NC. This is an old strategy of Dahal who wishes to take benefit from political instability and chaos.

Not to forget, Delhi wants its comfortable government in Nepal and it is still trying to develop a strong alliance between NC president Sher Bahadur Deuba and PM Dahal by cornering UML. In fact, Delhi is against any alliance among the communist forces. As UML is a strong political force, Delhi is trying to make it weak.
