Commerce Minister requests Chinese envoy to open trading points at Taklakot, Tinker

Kathmandu, 31 January:  Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies, Damodar Bhandari, and Chinese Ambassador to Nepal, Chen Song, held a meeting today. During the meeting, Minister Bhandari drew the attention of Ambassador Song on the issues of opening north-west borders, including Taklakot and Tinker.

According to the Commerce Ministry, the duo discussed further strengthening Nepal-China trade relations, export of Nepali products to China and facilitation of the imports at the borders. He urged Ambassador Song to encourage more Chinese investment  in Nepal.

Ambassador Cheng mentioned that the Chinese government was positive to open the north-west borders and under-construction five dry ports. He shared that he would try his best to further promote trade relations between China and Nepal.
