
Kathmandu, 24 January: Dean R. Thompson, the US ambassador, paid a courtesy call on Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Ravi Lamichhane today.
According to the secretariat of the Home Minister, during the meeting, cooperation between Nepal and the US and the enhancement of mutual interests were discussed.
They discussed the support provided by the American government in Nepal’s infrastructure development, increasing access to education and health, mitigating the effects of climate change, energy development, technology transfer, etc.
Along with Ambassador Thomson, the Deputy Head of Mission in the US Embassy, officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Home Affairs also participated in the meeting.
