‘We’re trying hard to find common candidate for Presidency’

Kathmandu, 23 January: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has initiated efforts  to build a national consensus to find a common candidate and elect the new President. The ruling parties and Dahal were trying for building understanding  in electing the President.

An aide to Dahal told People’s Review that the ruling CPN-Maoist Center has reached the conclusion that a common person should be made the President of the country. Prime Minister and party President Pushpa Kamal Dahal has been suggested by the leaders of that party to pay attention to three points while selecting the President. ‘A person who is common and accepted by all, s/he  who understands the dignity of a ceremonial position and who is determined to protect the constitution and democracy above party politics’
