Kathmandu, 23 January: The work on the Nagadhunga-Sisnekhola tunnel has been stopped since the afternoon of January 16. The work has been stopped for a week due to the inability to transport sand in the tunnel, which is being worked on in two shifts. According to Madhav Adhikari, deputy project director of the Nagadhunga-Sisnekhola tunnel project, the construction work inside the tunnel has not been completed due to lack of sand.
“Construction materials are not available ,” said Adhikari, “due to which the work has not been completed.” Sand was brought from Mahadevbesi in Dhading and the work of concreting was going on in the tunnel.
