Kathmandu, 23 January: Nepali Congress has urged the Government and the Election Commission to ensure the timely election of the President. A meeting of the party office bearers and former office bearers today the attention of the Government and the Election Commission towards the need to hold the election on time.
“The election schedule shall not be postponed by citing legal hurdles. If any legal challenges persist to hold the election on time, the matter should be resolved and timely election should be ensured. In accordance with the Article 63 of the Constitution, the term of the President shall be for five years and incumbent President Bidya Devi Bhandari was appointed on the post for the second –term on March 12, 2018.
