Kathmandu, 20 January: The government has announced a national holiday on Sunday, 22 January.
21 January is the Sonam Lhosar (new year) of the Tamang community. As 21 January falls on Saturday (a weekly holiday), the government has decided to give a national holiday on 21 January.
All the government offices and banks will remain closed on Sunday.
After the introduction of “loktantra’ the government is giving national holidays on the festivals of different communities in the country.
