Kathmandu, 10 January: Prime Minister Pushpakamal Dahal Prachanda is seeking a vote of confidence from Parliament today. As small parties, including Unified Socialist Party led by Madhav Nepal, also decided to vote for PM Prachanda, the Prachanda led government is sure to secure a majority.
Meanwhile, the establishment faction in the Nepali Congress led by Sher Bahadur Deuba is also willing to vote for the present government with a plan of a possible alliance with the Maoist in future and the formation of the NC-Maoist coalition government.
Nevertheless, the anti-Deuba camp led by Gagan Thapa is of the view of playing the role of a responsible opposition, which is the beauty of parliamentary democracy.
It is speculated that the Indians are not happy with the present coalition government and they have instructed Deuba for maintaining a soft attitude towards Maoists considering the possibility of the formation of the NC government in future.
South is playing the role to create a dispute between Prachanda and UML chair K.P. Oli.
