Kathmandu, 10 January: The CPN (Maoist Centre) Parliamentary Party leader Shalikram Jamkattel has been appointed Chief Minister (CM) of the Bagmati Province. The Province Chief Yadav Chandra Sharma appointed him in line with Article 168 (2) of the constitution of Nepal.
Jamkattel got a majority support from 70 Province Assembly (PA) members including from the ruling alliance (27 from the CPN (UML), 21 from the Maoist Center, 13 from the Rastriya Prajatantra Party, seven from the CPN (Unified Socialist) and two from the Hamro Nepali Party).
