Kathmandu, 9 January: Due to the conflict between the Kathmandu Metropolitan City and the National Land Commission, the squatters’ problem is becoming complicated. The squatters’ problem does not seem to be solved immediately as the commission itself does not show any interest in collecting the details of actual squatters.
The commission has been working on collection of details in collaboration with the local level for a long time. The commission has written to the metropolis to collect the data of squatters of Kathmandu. But the metropolis has rejected the request of the commission.
Despite the collection of details of squatters for fourteen times, the Kathmandu Metropolis claims that the commission did nothing, instead, the metropolis is preparing to bulldoze the slums of Bagmati and Dhobikola.
