Prachanda says corruption control is his first priority

Kathmandu, 8 January: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said that corruption control is his first priority. The Prime Minister said that the role of the government will be effective in controlling corruption and guaranteeing good governance. He said that there is a need for a national awakening move for this.

Prime Minister Prachanda said that his third term will focus on social justice, good governance and prosperity in a discussion with the chief commissioner and commissioners of the Commission for Investigation on Abuse of Authority at the PM’s office in Singh Darbar on Sunday morning.

“We have given high priority to good governance even in the common minimum program of the coalition partner parties,” said the Prime Minister, “Good governance is the common responsibility of the state.” “The government is serious about this. Corruption prevention cannot be done by only one agency. It is also a question of overall social consciousness and culture. It is also related to the awareness and initiative of the common people. The responsibility of the state remains primarily in the prevention of corruption. I am responsible for that”, said Prachanda.
