Kathmandu, 8 January: Foreign Secretary Bharatraj Paudyel has said that South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) could not move forward lacking consensus among member states.
Foreign Secretary made such remark at a time when the SAARC Secretariat itself is going to be without leadership in the near future due to dispute between SAARC member states India and Pakistan. “Deep disagreement and differences among the member countries have adversely marred advancement of SAARC and its process,” he said at a meeting of Parliamentarians today.
