Kathmandu, 6 January: A team of the Nepali Army (NA)on Thursday raided the Budhanilkantha-based house of Major General Prem Shahi. The NA team carried out the raid on Shahi’s house on the suspicion that he might be keeping some documents relating to financial irregularities he had allegedly committed. Shahi has been accused of embezzling funds while he was in charge of different units.
According to NA Spokesperson, the raid was carried out by the NA team under the direction of the Court of Inquiry. Shahi was dragged into controversy as his date of birth did not match NA documents and he challenged the decion of NA at the Supreme Court seeking legal remady.
