Kathmandu, 2 January: Addressing the virtual meeting of the chief district officers and the district security chiefs from the Ministry of Home Affairs today, DPM and Home Minister Ravi Lamichhane directed them to provide services so that there should be no complaints from the people and to protect citizens from calamities such as cold waves.
Chief District Officer of Lalitpur Jayanarayan Acharya informed that instructions have been received to streamline the service delivery of home administration, and to protect the livelihood of citizens from cold waves and other natural calamities as the winter progresses.
He said that Home Minister Lamichhane has instructed to maintain peace, security and order and not to compromise on crime control. Chief District Officer of Kathmandu Ghanshyam Upadhyay said that the Minister has given necessary instructions on good governance, service delivery, corruption control, illegal theft control and disaster management.
According to Upadhyaya, the Home Minister also directed the chief district officers to be prepared to reduce the risk of cold waves in Tarai and snowfall in high Himalayan districts.
The Home Minister also informed that the ministry will take initiatives in the necessary coordination and management in preparation for disaster management to prevent any loss of life due to the growing cold, according to his secretariat.
